I've been working on this piece for a while now, on and off in between other vectors, and finally sat down these past two days to finish it! Not really sure where my inspiration for this one came, originally I planned on doing a similar Scootaloo vector, but Applejack really fit with the emotion that I was going for. Here she is, remembering when she was homesick in Manehatten as a filly. I really tried to go all out with this vector, drawing some inspiration for bits and pieces from other fantastically done pieces of art (such as Deirdre, by ~
gign-3208).
The vector started out as a sketch (which you can see in my svg file) of just AJ, and I built up the scene around her. I tried to make her the focal point of the image, so the background is very minimalistic (besides the Fluttershy-esque curtains

) Between the insane amount of blurs used and the number of paths, it took around 45 minutes to render completely. If you do look in the svg, I would highly recommend using one of the nightly builds of Inkscape 0.49 since the display renderer is a bit faster with handling blurs than the older versions, and I used nested clipping paths (which were only fixed in 0.49).
I would like to give a huge thanks to

Kired25 for their awesome help with ironing out the details in the vector (from proportions to proper shading). Seriously, you guys are awesome!
So I really hope you like this piece, and hopefully I will find some inspiration for other artwork with the same style. Feel free to critique it too, I really appreciate feedback since it's my first time working in this kind of artistic depth.
